Techies We Are

Often i have had to hear the complaint that i dont keep in touch as much as i used to..
Well work kept me busy at times.

And then i met a very good friend who said i never keep my promises as work took precedence over everything. i would promise to meet and then i would cancel at the last minute saying i can't. yup that was my first project at work and life wasnt as easy as it used to be. Coming home at 2 am and then leaving at 7 am. Saturdays and sundays too.
And often when i get upset , i just end up writing a couple of lines.

Thus i wrote "Techies we are".

I was always afraid to send out the poems that i write to friends, but this time i did and i think it went all around the world and finally came back to my inbox with the poet as unknown... I was just a lil upset... but then its a techie way indeed.

Well that’s what techies like us can expect.
When we work mindless of the world around us,
Not seeing dear and near ones we work,
But the hope of seeing them does remain.
We work when the world is awake and asleep.
Without a break without rest,
We give our heart, mind and body to the codes we create and test.
Yet it does hurt when they say in u I do not trust.

What else can we do, but do what we can best,
And that’s work without rest,
Without hope that none does wait,
Whenever we reach, however late.

In the confines of cubicles by artificial light,
Sipping coffee from the machines day and night.
Speaking on phones, in meetings we sit.
Seeing the monitor, the keyboards we hit.
Far away from loved ones whom for days we do not meet.
Remembering them sitting on our seat.
This is life for us,
Working away from homes and loved ones in places far.
What a life, techies we are.

Well more about that friend later someday sometime..

Lots of things

Its been a busy week.
lots of birthdays and gatherings.
and the usual patch testing.. Freedom in 6 weeks..

Orkut has been an amazing thing thats taken life by surprise at times.
I have met with friends whom i had no contact with for ages,
then friends whom i knew but never knew..
and some whom we wished we knew before.
and then so many new friends many of whom i've never met and some whom i'll never meet.

Technology and its wonderful ways.

its a techie life indeed, oops havent used this in ages. Some day i must post that poem........

and then i just wonder i have changed in many ways..
My friends say i am just the same.

I have so many things to do and as usual very little time.
one thing pending for over 2 years is cleaning up the PST's
and as usual it just keeps accumulating.

Oh ya i havent still got over the upset of losing out a cool nintendo Wii with the remotes and 2 games for a cool $250.
it'll keep me bothered for sometime..
Ah i'll never change.

And my latest resolution Plan to make a plan to plan my activities properly.
Yaa i've been planning all my life to make this plan..

i have a new nickname as well "Funny Guy" and i have no clue why they named me like this.

Growing Older

And then the day finally arrived.
15th July, i turned 26. A sudden sense that i finally am kind of old..
But they say i am still too young.. some say the likes of Calvin.

Whatver i am , however i am, I just believe in that wonderful quote.
"Be Yourself , Who Else is better Qualified"..

In the end its all a chronological convenience to keep track of how many times we have revolved around the sun with the earth..

They say i'd be more mature with every year that passes by, but then Childhood is Short and Maturity is Forever.

I wasnt in the mood to celebrate my bday after granpa's passing away.
The my friends and brother came home with the most beautiful little cake that i have ever cut.
For once i was overcome with emotion with the love and affection showered by my friends. And as they say its the people that make the place and life special..


I remember those wonderful lines

and with every year that i survive on this crazy little planet made sweeter by friends and family all i'd say is
"The world's a cake and i am just one of the nuts in it."

Shrimp Curry

Of late i have started taking some interest in cooking.

I got bored of the Ready to eat Frozen food.
In the beginning i started to see the online recipies.
and then i decided to experiment.

And one such creation was the Shrimp curry, we cooked yesterday,
it started off as Shrimp Fry and then was later modified into curry. Typical bachelor style preparations :) Hope many would agree to that.

And now for the recipie. its a simple recipie for all bachelors and not so bachelors and also pseudo bachelors..


Shrimp -- As much as you like.
Coconut Powder -- 4 tbl spoon
One Red Onion - Cut into thin slices.
Fish Curry Masala
Turmeric powder - One spoon
Chilli Powder -- One Spoon
Garam Masala -- 1-2 tbl spoon
Salt to taste..

Prepare some coconut milk by mixing the cocount powder in a bowl of hot water,
Marinate the shrimp using the Fish curry masala, Turmeric powder , Chilli powder and some Garam Masala.
Once it is mixed well, pour half of the coconut milk into the marinated Shrimp. Let is set for about 20-30 Minutes.

Heat some oil in a vessel. add the mustard and other spices as necessary. once the oil is heated add the onions and cook till they are brown. Add some garam masala to the fried onions. Mix them well. Now add the marinated Shrimps. Add the remanining coconut milk too. Add salt to taste and let this cook for about 20 minutes.

The shrimp curry is ready.
It wasn't all that bad....

Okay i accept i am bad at explaining recipies :)
Try it out and i hope it turns out good..

Chocolates and Dieting

Folks,

I am back with a new post.
One of my very good friends stopped eating chocolates.

And i penned down this poem for my friend.


Alas!! i lost a friend
who loved to eat
in various shapes n size
chocolates, dark and sweet.

All for a resolution
none doth know why
now gone a reason.
chocolates, why shud we buy.

Sometimes i think
is it all for the tease.
but then my friend
with chocolates, ever make peace

Life will move on
The world 'll still be there
but then it aint the same.
without friends, chocolates to share
